The Salem’s So Sweet Wine and Chocolate Tasting for Friday, February 10 is now sold out. Thank you to all the fabulous Salem businesses who donate delicious wine and/or chocolate to the event making it so scrumptious that the event has sold out over a week ahead of time. Participating businesses include: 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar, Adriatic Restaurant & Bar, Ben & Jerry’s, Busa Wine and Spirits, Café Polonia, Caffe Graziani, Capt.’s Premium Steak & Seafood Grill, Captain Dusty’s Ice Cream, Finz Seafood & Grill, The Great Escape, Green Land Café, Gulu-Gulu Cafe, Pamplemousse, Rockafellas, Salem Waterfront Hotel, Sweet Adeline’s, Thai Place, Victoria Station. and Ye Olde Pepper Co.

There will be 17 beautiful ice sculptures gracing the downtown for the 10th Annual  Salem’s So Sweet festival February 10 – 14, 2012. The festival begins with a Wine and Chocolate Tasting in Hamilton Hall on Friday, February 10. Tickets are almost sold out for this decadent event and can be purchased by calling (978)744-0004. On Saturday, February 11 by noon 17 large ice sculptures will fill downtown Salem. Many shops will be offering free chocolate samples and fantastic shopping discounts. It’s a great opportunity to do your Valentine shopping and make dinner reservations at one of 60 eating establishments downtown Salem.

Tickets are now on sale for the popular Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate and Wine Tasting event Friday, February 10, 2012. This decadent sampling of delicious desserts and chocolate from many of Salem’s premier restaurants and  shops is always a favorite. Add delicious wines and champagne plus the music of Evan Goodrow and you have the perfect combination. The event will be held in Hamilton Hall, 9 Chestnut Street from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling (978)744-0004. We hope tickets will also be available at the door however we have sold out in advance the last few years. Don’t miss the Haunted Happenings Family Fun on the Salem Common Saturday and Sunday 11 – 5 this weekend and next. Here’s a peak at what you are missing.

For $10 children can enjoy 7 rides unlimited.  This weekend a portion of the proceeds go to Salem Main Streets. Next weekend a portion of the proceeds go to the Salem Common Neighborhood Association.

Celebrate the art, beauty and business of writing at the Salem Literary Festival Friday – Sunday downtown Salem. There will be over 50 talented authors, bloggers, booksellers, editors, news-anchors, playwrights, professors, poets, publicists, publishers and storytellers at the 4th annual festival. The festival kicks off Sept. 23 in Rockafella’s Colonial Hall, 227 Essex Street with hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and a reading by Erin Morgenstern author of The Night Circus. The festival continues on Saturday with a Scrabble Tournament, a Literary Agent Panel, workshops and more.
