According to the Salem News “In Salem, staffers at Tavern in the Square restaurant will donate their time to serve free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 189 Washington St., Salem, MA.

They hope to feed twice as many people as last year, when 225 people dined on turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and “all the extras,” said Mark Morris, co-owner of Tavern in the Square.”

Salem Main Streets is looking for donations for Downtown Holiday Decorations. Every year Salem Main Streests collects donations to be able to hang live green wreaths throughout the downtown. Salem Main Streets also looks for donations to purchase and decorate a large holiday tree which is placed in Lappin Park. These programs would not be possible without donations from downtown businesses and the community. Please donate now! Salem’s Haunted Happenings is in the home stretch and this weekend promises to be a blockbuster weekend! From a Disco Dance Party to a children’s trick-or-treat on Pickering Wharf there is fun for all ages.  Looking to go for a jog try The Devil’s Chase 6.66 Miler Saturday, October 27 at 8 a.m. There are great places to shop for the perfect Halloween accessory and gift items. There are fantastic restaurants to enjoy, museums to visit, night tours, costume balls and much more. Thursday, October 25 is the last outdoor Salem Farmers’ Market of the season from 3 – 7 in Derby Square. Many of your favorite vendors will be continuing with the market as it moves into Old Town Hall November 1. However, some will be ending their season with the market. This Thursday we will officially end our season with the annual Thriller performance by Dance Etc. This dancing zombie invasion has become a Farmers’ Market tradition. They will perform at 5:30 and 6:30. You won’t want to miss this!
