You don’t need to be Scrooge to travel back to Christmas Past. This weekend in Salem, gather the whole family for exciting events and entertainment that will take you back to the way the holidays were celebrated in centuries long gone by!

From December 2-3, experience Christmas as it was in the Victorian days at Dickens in Salem. Enjoy a variety of readings and performances by Gerald Dickens, the great-great grandson of Charles Dickens.

The whole family can join in on the historic holiday excitement with classic 19th century entertainment for children with Victorian marionettes, parlor performances and games, stories and crafts, and even a visit from Victorian Santa Claus. Continue the old-fashioned family fun with a festive Caroling Carriage Ride around Salem and a German Cotillion Family Costume Ball! Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Don’t miss out on all the historic festivities! Today, November 29, is the LAST day to purchase tickets online! Tickets can also be purchased at the door with cash and a surcharge of $5. On December 3, all tickets can be used for a 20% discount at Mud Puddle Toys and free storytime from 1-3 pm, free hot chocolate and ‘Gluewein’ wine from Pamplemousse from 2-4 pm and a 15% discount at Ye Olde Pepper Candy Companie.
