The Salem Maritime Festival which is the start of Heritage Days begins tonight with a concert at Derby Wharf from 7 – 9 p.m. The festival continues with music and many great activities for all ages Saturday 10 – 5. A flotilla of ships from ports far and near will converge at Salem’s historic waterfront to celebrate the 22nd annual Salem Maritime Festival to be held Friday, August 6th and Saturday, August 7th, 2010. This year, Salem Maritime, the National Park in Salem, offers a special salute to our fishing heritage, as well as the free family fun, live music and traditional maritime crafts that the Maritime Festival is well-known for.
