Come downtown to the Salem Common to welcome Santa Claus. He is expected to appear a little after 6 p.m. tonight on the roof of the Hawthorne Hotel. The Salem Fire Company is planning on assisting his decent from the roof on a ladder truck. He will then be greeted by State Representative John Keenan who will also be on hand to light the Salem Common Tree. Enjoy lovely carols, elves with candy canes for children and hot chocolate by 62 Restaurant. The event is organized by Salem Main Streets.

e Mall where he will hear the wishes of good boys and girls. For those who do not wish to see Santa there are many other great events going on tonight with Salem’s First Friday events where businesses stay open until at least 8 p.m. offering refreshments, promotions or entertainment.
