Thursday several thousand people came to the Salem Farmers’ Market to enjoy the beautiful weather and fantastic selection of items. It was a great place to do your shopping for the holiday weekend.
Enjoy the weekend downtown Salem at one of over 40 eating establishments or at the many wonderful shops or museums downtown. On the 4th of July, come to the common at 9 a.m. for a reading of the Declaration of Independance and the singing of our national anthem and America the Beautiful. Later in the day there will be children’s activities on Derby Wharf (4 p.m.) and music by the Hillyer Orchestra (7:15 p.m.) and fireworks (9:15 p.m.).
