Don’t miss the Downtown Salem Tree Lighting in Lappin Park Friday, November 23 at 6:30 p.m. After you stagger home from Black Friday shopping stop downtown for dinner and the annual Tree Lighting. Enjoy the lovely sounds of the season by the Paul Madore Singers starting at 6:00 p.m. The tree is made possible through the generous support and donations of  John and Sally Hayes for donating the tree, Matt Kaminski and Meeting House church for tree locating and coordinating and donating funds, Mayer Tree Service putting the tree in place, Bills Auto Clinic for transporting the tree, Gary Gill for his work decorating the tree and fundraising, Delande Lighting for donating lights, David and Jackie Eng for decorations donation, Tache, Tony Lena and North Shore Fruit Basket for donations, donations made in memory of Juliette Marquis and the Department of Public Works for all their efforts in installing the tree and downtown decorations. This Tuesday enjoy shopping at a special Tuesday Winter Farmers’ Market in Old Town Hall from 3 – 6 p.m. The Salem Farmers’ Market is the perfect place for your Thanksgiving shopping. Whether you are cooking the meal and want to shop for local items like squash, potatoes, onions, cheese, wine and bread or if you need the perfect gift items to bring like pies, cookies, wine etc. you will find it at the Winter Market. The Salem Winter Farmers’ Market is today, Thursday, November 8 in Old Town Hall, rain or shine, shop in comfort indoors. Enjoy a delicious assortment of local fruits, vegetables, cheese, bread, wine, soup and other specialty food items. AKA Marvelicious will be joining us this week bringing her delicious cookies. The Phoenix School will be doing a free children’s activity – a modified food pyramid bean bag toss game. Salem Main Streets is looking for donations for Downtown Holiday Decorations. Every year Salem Main Streests collects donations to be able to hang live green wreaths throughout the downtown. Salem Main Streets also looks for donations to purchase and decorate a large holiday tree which is placed in Lappin Park. These programs would not be possible without donations from downtown businesses and the community. Please donate now!
