There will be 17 beautiful ice sculptures gracing the downtown for the 10th Annual Salem’s So Sweet festival February 10 – 14, 2012. The festival begins with a Wine and Chocolate Tasting in Hamilton Hall on Friday, February 10. Tickets are almost sold out for this decadent event and can be purchased by calling (978)744-0004. On Saturday, February 11 by noon 17 large ice sculptures will fill downtown Salem. Many shops will be offering free chocolate samples and fantastic shopping discounts. It’s a great opportunity to do your Valentine shopping and make dinner reservations at one of 60 eating establishments downtown Salem.
Tickets are now on sale for the popular Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate and Wine Tasting event Friday, February 10, 2012. This decadent sampling of delicious desserts and chocolate from many of Salem’s premier restaurants and shops is always a favorite. Add delicious wines and champagne plus the music of Evan Goodrow and you have the perfect combination. Mark your calendars for Santa’s Arrival Friday, December 2 on the roof of the Hawthorne Hotel at 5:30 p.m. Free hot chocolate provided by 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar. Music by the Dejas at the Salem Common. He will be greeted by Mayor Driscoll and then proceed to the Museum Place Mall to hear the wishes of children.
Friday, December 2 is also the kick off of Christmas in Salem Historic House Tours and a Charles Dickens Weekend full of events celebrating his life and work.

Salem Main Streets is happy to announce the Salem Winter Farmers’ Market opens this Thursday, November 10 in the Artists’ Row buildings between Front St. and Derby St. Shop the market for some of your favorite items and discover some new favorites. Some of our new vendors have gained recognition in the Boston Globe and Edible Boston!
The market will run from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 17 , (Tuesday, November 22), December 1, 8, 15 and 22. On November 10, join us for a reception in the Artists’ Row buildings at 6 p.m. to celebrate the start of the brand new Winter Market season!
At the market, you will find 12 of your favorite summer vendors as well as many new vendors including Shady Oaks Organics, selling their fabulous Oyster and Shiitake mushrooms as featured in the Boston Globe, and Deborah’s Kitchen, whose delicious and all natural, low sugar spreadable fruit and relish has been covered in the Lowell Sun and Edible Boston magazine.
