Sixteen ice sculptures grace downtown Salem. Come downtown to enjoy these beautiful works of art with themes ranging from a crystal snowflake at Lappin Park to Romantic Movies at Pickering Wharf. A new attraction of this year’s festival is an ice carving at 1:00 Saturday, February 6 at Pickering Wharf. Enjoy great discounts, free chocolate samples and much more at participating businesses downtown Salem. Also, if you haven’t gotten your H1N1 flu shot yet the Salem Health Department is conducting a flu clinic at the Waterfront Hotel Saturday, February 6 from 12 – 3 p.m.

**THE WINE AND CHOCOLATE EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT**
The Salem’s So Sweet festival kick’s off tonight with a Chocolate and Wine Tasting Friday, February 5 with delicious treats ranging from chocolate cheesecake to chocolate truffles to chocolate ice cream. There will also be a nice wine selection from area wine shops and restaurants. The event will be held at Hamilton Hall, 9 Chestnut St., Salem, MA starting at 6:30 p.m.

Salem So Sweet Chocolate and Ice Sculptures Festival offers free fun for the whole family February 5 – 14, 2010
**THE WINE AND CHOCOLATE EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT FOR FRIDAY NIGHT**

The Salem’s So Sweet festival offers fantastic discounts at area stores and restaurants, a free opportunity to win a huge gift basket, and 16 ice sculptures displayed around town which can be viewed at no cost. This popular festival is in its eighth year and features more sculptures than ever before. Themes range from the Salem Witch to the Eiffel Tower. The artfully carved ice sculptures will grace downtown Salem starting February 6 and last as long as the weather allows. This year the festival will feature an ice sculpting demonstration at 1:00 p.m. at Pickering Wharf.

Over 30 downtown businesses are offering incredible discounts and free chocolate during the weekend as well. The discounts range from a % off meals to gift certificates, discounts on items purchased, wine tastings and free chocolate samples.

Once again, Golden Tickets will be available in downtown Salem. Pick up your Golden Ticket and have it validated at participating businesses (no purchase necessary) then enter to win a Salem’s So Sweet gift basket. The Salem’s So Sweet gift basket features many fine items from area retailers.

Tickets are going fast for this popular Salem event. This is a chocolate lovers dream. Chocolate selections will range from chocolate truffles to ice cream. We anticipate chocolate mousse, flan even cheese cake may make an appearance at this year’s event. In addition to all these scruptious chocolate choices there will be a lovely selection of wine. The Chocolate and Wine Tasting is the kick off event for Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate and Ice Sculpture Festival. The tasting will be held Friday, February 5 at Hamilton Hall, 9 Chestnut Street from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at 265 Essex Street, suite 101.
