Salem Main Streets Design Committee is pleased to announce the winners of the Salem’s So… Sweet Window Contest.  The SMS Design Committee is comprised of Committee Chair, Gina Flynn of Eastern Bank, Shirley Walker, Real Estate, Doug Hopper, Architect and Bill Yuhas, Architect.  This year’s winners are:

Did you see all of the 21 lovely Ice Sculptures this past weekend as part of the Salem’s So Sweet festival?

If you missed some look below to see all 21! Thank you to the downtown businesses who participated in this year’s Salem’s So Sweet Festival whether sponsoring an ice sculpture, donating samples for the Wine and Chocolate event, entering the window contest or listing a promotion or event for the festival. Thank you to everyone who came downtown to make this a successful event and all the volunteers who made it possible. Special thanks to Salem Trolley who donated their services Saturday and Sunday offering free shuttle rides around town.

Starting Saturday, February 5 at noon downtown Salem will be filled with 21 beautiful ice sculptures. The ice sculptures are outdoors and free to view. Stop in to warm up at downtown businesses, many of whom are offering free chocolate samples and discounted shopping. Go to the National Park Service Visitor Center at the corner of New Liberty and Essex Street to learn about the history of drinking chocolate. Stop by Deadhorse Beach on Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. to watch the Polar Plunge fundraiser. These are just a few of the fun opportunities in Salem this weekend.

The Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate and Wine Tasting Event February 4 in Hamilton Hall is SOLD OUT. Thank you to everyone who bought advance tickets to support this event. Don’t miss the 21 ice sculptures throughout the downtown Starting February 5 and great chocolate tasting. Many stores are offering samples of chocolate to enjoy while you stroll through the downtown enjoying the ice sculptures. There are also lots of great shopping promotions and events such as the Polar Plunge and an exhibit on chocolate at the Visitor’s Center as well. The Salem’s So Sweet Festival Brochure is now available! This year’s festival is the most spectacular ever – with numerous events including a Polar Plunge, 21 Ice Sculptures (a new record), and the popular Chocolate and Wine Tasting Event in Hamilton Hall.  Thank you to all businesses who are participating in the festival February 4 – 14, 2011.
