Yes, it has finally arrived….Halloween in Salem.
Halloween night there will be fireworks at 10:30 p.m. and live music downtown Salem, amazing costumes, balls and the unexpected. Both Friday and Saturday will be big nights in the downtown. If you’re going to be in Salem on Halloween night, check out the Main Stage on Washington Street at 10:30 p.m. when the Radio 92.9 Street Team will be looking for the best costumes in the crowd. There will be fabulous prizes including concert tickets for The Pixies and Dashboard Confessional, awarded at 10:45 p.m.

Don’t miss the last Salem Farmers’ Market of the season! The market still has lots of great fresh fruits and vegetables, monkey bread, seafood, live lobsters, bread and pastries. For the last market of the season we are encouraging vendors, volunteers and patrons to come in costume or in their official Farmers’ Market T-shirt which is a fundraiser for the market and available for only $15. Enjoy live music, a cooking demonstration and a fun atmosphere at the last market October 29.
in decorating downtown Salem for the holidays. All donations are welcome. We are fundraising to purchase live green 30″ wreaths with red ribbon for the downtown to be hung on the black lampposts. Last year we were able to hang 70 wreaths around the downtown adding to the festive atmosphere and lovely evergreen scent in the air. Salem is filled with excitement as Halloween approaches. Each weekend is filled with more activities than the last. The 21st Annual Motorcycle Ride to benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association has been rescheduled for THIS SUNDAY! The ride is expected to arrive in Salem somewhere around 1:30 p.m. (Route: Lafayette Street – Derby Street – Congress Street – Shetland Park)
There are many great ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN. This weekend starts off with Trick or Treating for children at Pickering Wharf Friday, October 23 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Parents with children in costume, ages 14 and under are encouraged to visit all stores in Pickering Wharf with balloons outside their doors. The Phoenix School is conducting their Annual Children’s Halloween Costume Parade and Party Saturday from 12 – 3 p.m. Registration for the parade starts at 11 a.m. on the Salem Common. Salem Common Neighborhood Assocation is also sponsoring a Children’s Day both Saturday and Sunday on the Salem Common from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
